Best Patio x Wood-Fired Pizza Combo in Dallas

Updated: Sep 20, 2021

There are three essential qualities every Dallas patio restaurant needs to have.

  • First, the food needs to be fantastic.

  • Next, the restaurant needs to have a happy hour with a wide selection of different drinks and cocktails.

  • Finally, the patio needs a welcoming atmosphere. It needs to be a place where you just want to stay and kick back on a sunny day with great food and drinks.

Flatbread Company on Lower Greenville checks all these boxes and more! A tire shop turned organic wood-fire flatbread restaurant, the location of Flatbread in Lower Greenville is truly one of a kind. The space pays tribute to the building's history as a former tire shop and has kept its seven large garage doors that lead out to the patio. They have your favorite games like corn hole, darts and Jenga, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends over drinks and pizza. The patio is decorated with white lights, and it seats up to 100 people. With live music every Wednesday from 6 pm - 9 pm and Sunday from 1 pm - 4 pm, the hardest part will be deciding when to leave!

Of course, the real star of the show are their flatbreads. Flatbread’s wood-fired pizza blew me away! The ingredients are all natural with pizza dough from organic wheat flour, and some of the vegetable toppings are even locally sourced from Texas farmers. Two large wood-burning ovens are on display in the open kitchen where you can peak inside and watch your pizzas cook over the fire. If you’re ready to be a little adventurous, you can’t miss their Cowboy and Mopsy Kalua Pork pizzas. The Cowboy is topped with in house, slow-cooked Texas brisket drizzled with BBQ sauce and topped with pickled jalapenos. The Mopsy's Kalua Pie is the most popular pizza on the menu. It’s topped with Kiawe smoked pork shoulder drizzled with mango BBQ sauce and topped with pineapple and locally sourced Lost Ruby Ridge goat Cheese. The perfect day at Flatbread is spent outside on their patio, playing cornhole, the sun shining and a slice of pizza in hand. When you walk inside Flatbread Company you’ll instantly feel welcomed with their relaxed and casual atmosphere. It’s a place that will quickly become your go-to “neighborhood pizza spot”, where you'll have a favorite table and waiters who know you by name. Dabble Recommendations:
